Video Games: BioShock

Oh dear god. This game is amazing. I can still remember to roughly a year ago when I received an issue of Game Informer that previewed this game. I didn't read much into it, but thought it looked pretty good.
Fast forward to present day.
I'm still playing through the game as we speak. I don't even know how close to the end I am, but I will give you some of my thoughts about it, while trying not to spoil anything for those who actually play it.
First, this game is beautiful. The graphics are so smooth, everything looks great. The presentation is that of a 1950's movie, and they nail that so perfectly. Water in this game looks almost real, flowing, puddling, dripping, everything that it would do in real life.. it does here. Lighting, shadows, and audio effects just add to the overall feel for the game that just manages to draw you in deeper into the game.
Moving on to the next portion, gameplay. I've never played a game that plays out in a way like this. You the player decides how much of the story you want to know. Yet, as you find out more of the world of Rapture, you will want to know more and more about it.
Weapons in this game have lots of different modifications that will mix up and challenge the player throughout the game. Plus, with ammo not in every ten feet of you, thinking out what to use.. and when to use it makes it much more challenging.
How about the difficulty? Currently, I'm playing on the medium-ish level. With that in mind... this game is tough. You will die. A lot. The AI for this game is pretty good. Its no Gears of War, or FEAR, but with the many different types of basic enemies, you won't be prepared for them all. All that said and I have not even brought up the cover boy and feature of BioShock, the Big Daddies. These guys are mad, loaded with armor, and have one bad temper. As the game goes on you might do a little better against each one... but every fight with one, though you can pick when you do encounter them, is just as hard as the last one.
Hopefully I haven't given away too much for this masterpiece of a game. As of now I don't even have anything negative to say about the game (maybe the company that puts it out... but not the game). So if you have an 360, or even a PC, you must go out and play this game. If games keep pushing the envelope like BioShock, we'll be in for a great future for games.
